Flat Space, Colour Coming to Life - Son Rullan, Majorca
Created by Beth Môrafon following a creative workshop, by Jamie Catto in Majorca. This piece was inspired by the music of a fellow artist at the event. The image depicts a powerful flat space, above the building of Son Rullan. The landscape is animated with the dappled shapes of clustered House Sparrows as they are followed by an Eleonora's Falcon . The image depicts the ancient olive grove on the slopes of Serra de Tramuntana national park mountains. Colour bursts between the ancient woody stems of the gnarled bark, giving life. The event marked a threshold of personal life change hence, the title Colour Coming to Life.
Commissioned for the 2012 album Roses at the Top by singer/songwriter Sharon Lewis.
